A Lawrenceville man is facing several charges from a weekend murder investigation in Gwinnett County.

Gwinnett County Police say 57-year old Hugh Forman has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault , as well as possession of a firearm during the commission of a Felony and cruelty to children in the 1st degree stemming from the shooting death at an extended stay hotel parking lot along the 4300 block Stone Mountain Highway on Friday, October 11.

Officers initially responded to the scene after a 911 caller reported a shooting near the rear parking lot of the business.  When officers arrived, they discovered a male, now identified as 60-year old Victor Ricks, in the parking lot suffering from at least one gunshot wound.  Ricks reportedly was transported to local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and learned that Ricks was allegedly shot by Forman.  The information gathered so far indicates that the two men knew each other, but further details are not being released as the case remains under investigation.
