A driver was killed Tuesday night following a single vehicle crash on Ga. 79 in Elbert County.
The Georgia State Patrol said troopers responded to the scene on Lincolnton Hwy near Brad Dixon Rd. just after 9 p.m. An initial investigation revealed a white 2007 Honda Accord was traveling south on the roadway when it overturned after sticking a culvert.
The vehicle reportedly overturned several times before coming to a rest on its top off the roadway. The driver, Shawn Sorensen, 50, of Elbert County, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash, according to GSP.
