The Lawrenceville Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) is conducting an investigation of a multi-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a driver along Buford Drive at Hurricane Shoals Road Wednesday.
Police say the multi-vehicle crash occurred at around 6:00 p.m. at the crossing of the two roads. Investigators indicated that one vehicle crossed southbound lanes of Buford Drive and struck a Nissan Rogue head-on.
A press release from Lawrenceville Police noted that the driver of the Nissan Rogue was killed due to the injuries sustained during the collision. The driver of the at-fault vehicle along with several other occupants were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor and charges are forthcoming.
Names of both the suspect and victim have not been released by Lawrenceville police as of last report.
