A Gainesville man was seriously injured in a crash late Wednesday night in Murrayville.

Hall County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson B.J. Williams said Thursday that the wreck happened just before 10:15 p.m. Wednesday on Thompson Bridge Road at the intersection of Hubert Stephens Road. The crash was in front of the Fieldale Farms plant.

"A motorcycle was traveling southbound on Thompson Bridge Road...as he approached the northernmost entrance of the Fieldale Plant, a van was trying to make a left turn to travel northbound on Thompson Bridge Road," Williams said.

The motorcycle then crashed into the van as the van entered the roadway. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as Steven Duane Bell, age 42 of Gainesville, was thrown from the vehicle and was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital. His status was not known as of Thursday afternoon.

The driver of the van, identified as Lilo Adana, age 38 of Clarkston, was not injured in the crash. The incident remains under investigation and Williams said no charges had been filed as of Thursday afternoon.
