The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) is reporting that phone scams are increasing in the county this holiday season.

In a Facebook post on Monday, they reported that people are receiving phone calls stating that they have an unpaid citation, missed court dates, a warrant for their arrest, and other legal issues.

They reminded citizens to call the sheriff’s office to verify the calls.

They also said they will not call residents to tell them about unpaid citations or missed court dates, nor will they call looking for payments for anything.

FCSO can be reached at (770) 781-3087.
