The Barrow County Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed on Friday Srikanth Yamala as county manager during a special meeting.
A press release from Barrow County said Yamala was named the sole finalist for the role on Feb. 1. He is slated to begin the role on Mar. 11.
“Srikanth brings a wealth of leadership qualities, and his deep knowledge of addressing growth and infrastructure needs through collaboration makes him an exceptional choice to lead our government,” Chairman Pat Graham said. “The board is excited about his caliber and is looking forward to working with him to achieve greater success for Barrow County.”
Yamala has nearly two decades of experience in local government in Georgia and Kansas, where he served as planning and development director and public works and utilities director.
He is currently serving as the director of Community Development and infrastructure for Hall County.
“It is an honor to serve the Barrow County community in this role,” Yamala said. “I look forward to meeting the citizens, partnering with the municipalities, supporting constitutional officers, and working with dedicated county staff to carry out the board’s vision.”
Yamala is a member of the American Planning Association, American Public Works Association and is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Georgia.
