After a soggy start to the 2024 NASCAR season and a rain-delayed Daytona 500, NASCAR heads to Atlanta this weekend.

William Byron captured the Daytona 500 win under caution Monday night, breaking the 10-year Great American Race win drought for Hendrick Motorsports.

It was the ninth victory for Hendrick in the “Great American Race,” tying the franchise with Petty Enterprises for the most ever and a great start to Rick Hendricks's 40th year in NASCAR.

Meanwhile, Dawsonville's Chase Elliotts' hopes of winning his first Daytona 500 came to an end as he moved out of line on the final restart to finish 14th. Elliott returns to his home track, Atlanta, this weekend with hopes of getting a win.
