White County Public Information Officer Bryce Barrett said Anderson (AJ) Babb, Angie Roberts, Glenn Davis, Jean Davis and Cynthia Tyler are members that have now specialized to be part of the Search and Rescue Team.
The Search and Rescue Team is deployed throughout northeast Georgia to help in locating missing or lost persons and providing emergency response support.
Graduates underwent classroom instruction and field exercises covering skills such as land navigation, wilderness first aid, man-tracking and use of the SarTopo mapping platform.
"A special congratulations goes out to these graduates. Not only did these individuals complete CERT Basic Training, but they then specialized to join the Search and Rescue team," David Murphy, Director of White County Public Safety said. "I have seen first-hand the impact this team has in emergency situations, and I appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into it."
