Anyone who has ever thought of earning a pilot’s certificate is invited to learn more at an upcoming event at the Gainesville airport.

EAA Chapter 611, a local organization dedicated to increasing participation in aviation, has announced its new “Flying Start” program.

The Flying Start Program will introduce interested individuals to the steps and requirements of learning to fly, tips on making it more economical, and culminate in a free introductory flight.

Leading up to the event, anyone interested may also participate in a variety of free interactive webinars hosted live. Webinars will run May 15 through May 19 covering various flight training tips. Webinars are free to attend with pre-registration required at www.eaa.org/ltfweek

The Flying Start Program will be held at the Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 18. Anyone interested in aviation is invited to attend. To participate in this event registration is required. Due to plane availability for introductory flights, the event is limited to the first 25 attendees. To register click here.
