Four and half years after the project was first announced in the fall of 2019, the bulk of the Gainesville Renaissance building in downtown Gainesville is officially complete.

The grand opening of WDUN's new downtown studios within the building on Wednesday was the final step in opening all of the building's retail/business space.

The building, which some have also referred to as "the fourth side of the square," sits on "the old Belk lot."

The first floor of the building is now stocked with retail/business establishments, including Cotto, Monkees, Kilwins, WDUN, Boarding Pass Coffee, Onward Reserve and Taqueria Tsunami.

Meanwhile, the second floor is the home of Brenau University's Lynn J. Darby School of Psychology and Adolescent Counseling.

Finally, the third floor of the building offers a series of private residences.
