The threat of rain and heavy thunderstorms for tonight (Friday, May 17) has left the City of Gainesville's leaders to make the difficult decision with its plans for Food Truck Friday at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.
Organizers have decided to cancel the event for this month, out of concern for the safety of the vendors, volunteers and all participants.
Gainesville city officials have posted on social media that they invite the region to join city staff on Friday, June 21, for the second installment of this wildly popular and fun community event.
