The Hall County Government announced Friday several director-level organizational changes to reportedly improve processes and increase service delivery internally and externally.

Hall County officials said Beth Garmon will serve as director of Planning and Zoning, which will include planning, zoning and GIS. Garmon currently serves as the assistant director of Planning and Development.

The current director of Planning and Development Randi Doveton will become the director of Development Services which includes code enforcement, building inspections and business licenses.

“At Hall County Government, our vision is to set the standard for excellent local government services,” County Administrator Zach Propes said. “Making these changes will allow us to be more effective in our leadership and efficient in our services.”

Superintendent Kevin Ivey was promoted to director of Central Services. Ivey will assume the responsibilities of facilities maintenance, grounds maintenance, fleet maintenance and construction services.

“Dividing these service areas is necessary with the County’s growth,” Assistant County Administrator Casey Ramsey said. “As the County and our services grow, it’s necessary to restructure certain departments to ensure the directors can feasibly manage all of the services they oversee.”

Taylor Samples was promoted to Financial Services director after serving in an interim role since April.

“We have thoughtfully chosen each of these individuals based on their knowledge and experience to lead these departments forward as Hall County continues to navigate expansive growth and development,” Propes said.

Garmon, Doveton, Ivey and Samples will officially assume their new roles on Jul. 1.
