The Hall County Board of Commissioners approved the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 budget at their Thursday, June 27 meeting.

Commission members unanimously passed the FY 2025 budget, which contains a full rollback of the General Fund millage rate, a compensation adjustment for employees, 30 miles of road resurfacing, as well as various park and road improvements, and sewer expansions.

Hall County Administrator Zach Propes says in a Hall County press release, “We are presenting a relatively flat budget this year with strategic capital expenditures to achieve financial balance under the Board’s leadership and direction to alleviate the tax burden on citizens through a full rollback."

FY 2025’s General Fund millage rate is 3.234, down from last year’s 3.440. Officials say that the lower rate does not include the Hall County School System’s millage rate, but provides a slight decrease for county taxpayers.

Propes adds that the Board of Commissioners has done a full rollback of the General Fund millage rate for ten out of the past 11 years, noting that the rollbacks, provide a compounding advantage for taxpayers in Hall County when passed year over year.

The proposed $403.2 million budget is funded by three revenue streams: approximately one-third from property tax, one-third from sales tax and one-third from grants, service fees, fines and payments.
