A Gainesville man was arrested in relation to a crash that seriously injured a child on Monday.
19-year-old Erickson Mondesir unintentionally drove his SUV into a Lenox Parks Apartments unit, seriously injuring an 8-year-old child according to officials.
A Facebook post from the Gainesville Police Department said the child was flown from the scene to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) with serious injuries.
Mondesir fled the scene on foot instead of rendering aid. He was caught a short time later and transported to the Hall County Jail and charged with hit and run and serious injury by motor vehicle.
