Police in the city of Cumming are reminding the area's commuters that a popular roadway will have a portion blocked for a lengthy period of time, beginning next week.
A section of Pilgrim Mill Road, between Camilla Street and Lanier 400 Parkway, will be closed starting Friday, August 16 at 4:00 a.m. for approximately 30 to 45 days due to construction of the new Sawnee Drive Extension to Pilgrim Mill Road. Please plan detour routes ahead of time.
A release from the Cumming Police department accompanies their social media posts in saying that detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the closure.
City of Cumming residents living within the impacted section of Pilgrim Mill Road will still be able to access their homes, but should expect area delays.
