DAWSONVILLE, Ga. – Preston Bannister had a pair of rushing touchdowns and threw for nearly 200 yards, but Pickens did just enough to knock off Dawson County Friday night, 35-23.
Bannister had 192 yards passing on 14-for-23 through the air, finding Dylan Edwards 10 times for 106 yards receiving. Cody McBrayer had 18 carries for 86 yards and a touchdown, while Bannister had 44 yards rushing for his two scores.
Pickens had four rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown. Quarterback Hayden Jones accounted for three of their five touchdowns and tallied 190 yards rushing and 147 yards passing.
The Tigers will look to bounce back next week on the road at GAC.
