LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Buford defense held Discovery to just 128 total yards of offense in a 46-0 shutout Friday night.
Jordan Allen got things started for the Wolves as he caught a 55-yard pass from Dayton Raiola just 20 seconds into the game to get Buford on the board. On the next drive, Justin Baker broke free for a 50-yard rushing score to double the lead.
Buford scored again on their next drive with 5:11 to go in the first as Raiola found Kyle Carpenter for an 8-yard passing touchdown, followed by a 31-yard field goal by Martin Poblete on the next drive to make the score 23-0 after the first.
The Wolves kept it going on special teams to start the second quarter as Torre Costin returned a punt to the house from 54 yards out. On the next offensive drive by the Wolves, Ethan Ervin sprinted in from 35 yards out before Preston Hill hit a 20-yard field goal to give Buford a 39-0 lead at halftime. A Jameer Cantrell 35-yard touchdown run in the third quarter finished off the scoring.
Buford had 321 yards of offense and did not punt in the contest.
The Wolves will be off next week before a big region matchup at home against Collins Hill on October 4.
