U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Piedmont University in Demorest as the second-best value among regional universities in Georgia.
Piedmont University officials said the U.S. News Southern category comprises thirteen states and territories. The regional university category includes schools that offer a full range of undergraduate programs, some master's programs and a few doctoral programs.
"We are incredibly honored to be recognized in the Best Value category by U.S. News & World Report. This ranking reaffirms our commitment to providing a high-quality education that is accessible and affordable for students from all walks of life,” Piedmont University President Marshall M. Criser, III said. “It is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and the entire university community in ensuring that our students receive an education that prepares them for successful careers without compromising their financial futures."
Piedmont’s focus on excellence and affordability is reflected in the ranking.
According to university officials, Piedmont awards more than $18.4M in financial aid each year, with 99% of first-time full-time students receiving financial aid.
The rankings are based on a school's academic quality, as indicated by its 2024 U.S. News Best Colleges ranking, and the 2023-2024 net cost of attendance for an out-of-state student who received the average level of need-based financial aid.
