A 20-year-old Clermont man has been charged with child molestation after an investigation that began last year.
Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies arrested Fausto Gregorio Romero Tuesday morning and he has been charged with one count of child molestation, a felony.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Romero allegedly molested a girl at his residence on Bethel Road in July of 2023.
Romero reportedly knew the victim who was visiting from out of state at the time.
Deputies learned of the incident on Oct. 31 of last year, when a family member reported it after the victim came forward with the information.
Romero was transported to the Hall County Jail where he remains held without bond, and HCSO is continuing to investigate the case.
