As of Saturday afternoon, the vast majority of power outages from Winter Storm Cora in the Northeast Georgia area have been resolved.
As of 6:30 p.m. Saturday, local power companies are cumulatively reporting less than 400 homes and businesses in the region still without power. That number is down significantly from the more than 8,500 that were reported late Saturday morning.
Most of the outages have been in the northern portion of Gwinnett County. Earlier in the day, Dawson, Jackson, Lumpkin and Rabun counties had also reported substantial outage numbers.
Northern Gwinnett saw around 330 outages at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Hall County has just 11 at this time.
Habersham County is reporting 53 outages, all from Habersham EMC.
Some sunshine and slightly warmer conditions have helped melt ice and slowed the falling of trees and power lines around the region, helping power crews get control of the situation.
If you have an outage, officials advise you to report it to your EMC.
