A student reportedly brought a gun onto North Forsyth High School’s campus on Friday.
That’s according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office who said they received a tip about possible narcotics activity near a barn next to the softball field.
The student was located by deputies and administrators searched the student’s vehicle.
They found alcohol, vape cartridges, and a loaded handgun in the glovebox.
The 16-year-old student was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon within a school safety zone and underage possession of alcohol.
Officials did say no threats were made to students or staff.
The student is being transported to juvenile court for a hearing.
