A fire in Baldwin on Thursday resulted in a total loss of a home.

According to Banks County Fire and Emergency Services, they responded to Trotters Glen Road at around 7:30 a.m.

Battalion Chief Scottie Mathis said they had to shuttle water in.

“It got too out of hand, so we had to pull out and actually go to a defensive attack due to no water in the area,” Mathis said.

Mathis said that Habersham and Jackson County came in to help with the incident.

Upon arrival, units found a roughly 3500-square-foot home with “heavy fire” showing.

The home was occupied and the resident was home, but no injuries were reported.

Mathis said that the Red Cross was called to assist the residents and the situation was resolved by 2:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Banks County Fire Department.
