Hall County Financial Services was recently awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
A press release from the Hall County Government said the award, presented by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, has been given to the county for nine consecutive years.
“On behalf of the Financial Services Department, we are honored to receive this award and thank the County’s staff, leadership and Board of Commissioners for contributing to our success,” Hall County Financial Services Director Taylor Samples said. “This award directly reflects the County’s commitment to financial transparency and responsible stewardship, aligning with our overall mission to serve citizens.”
Hall County needed to meet national standards for evaluating the budget's effectiveness as a policy, financial plan, operations guide and communication tool.
The County received a "proficient" rating in all four categories and in the 14 required criteria within those categories.
