The Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) is investigating a homicide involving two roommates in Buford.

An early morning press release from the GCPD says officers received a 911 phone call from a residence on the 800 block of Roxholly Lane just after 1:30 a.m. on January 30.  When officers arrived, they discovered a deceased male inside the residence.

GCPD says the male had been shot at least one time, as officers reportedly spoke with witnesses who were inside the home when they arrived, with investigators detaining one male for questioning.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to the scene to speak with witnesses and collect evidence.  It appears the motive for this incident is domestic related.  The name of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.

Anyone that may have further leads behind the developments from this case is asked to contact GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300.
