Boys basketball: NHall drops heartbreaker; Union Co., Buford keep win streak going

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — North Hall dropped a heartbreaking 85-84 decision to Greater Atlanta Christian on Friday in Region 6-3A play.

Despite the loss, Cole Hulsey poured in 30 points for the Trojans (13-10, 6-6 Region 6-3A). Micah Jimerson added 22 points and Walker Vining had 16 for North Hall.

The Trojans remained in fourth place in the region and will travel to Dawson County on Tuesday.


UNION COUNTY 67,
RINGGOLD 53

The fourth-ranked Panthers used a balanced offensive attack to win their second straight game Friday night.

Houston Henry led the way for Union County (19-4, 11-3 Region 7-2A) with 22 points. Hayden Hughes added 15 points, Vince Marevka  14 points, and Maddox Young had 13 points for the Panthers.

Union County will play host to North Murray on Tuesday.

DISCOVERY 49

The Wolves won their 11th straight game, holding off the Titans at The Buford Arena.

Buford (20-3, 11-0 Region 8-6A) got balanced scoring. Kyle Carpenter scored 16 points and Carmelo Williams and Edward Hunter III each had 15 points for the Wolves.

Discovery (13-11, 4-7 Region 8-6A)  dropped its third straight game. Kaden Hunter led the Titans with 14 points. Kyle Gilbert had 12 points for Discovery.

Buford will close out its regular season on Tuesday on the road against rival Dacula.
