After a domestic disturbance, Banks County officials report the suspect was found deceased.
The Banks County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday, deputies received a call for the domestic disturbance on Historic Homer Highway.
When they arrived, they found a woman with injuries to her head.
Emergency medical care was administered at the scene.
Authorities then initiated a search for the suspect, 27-year-old Edward Countryman of Homer.
Deputies located Countryman in a nearby area unresponsive due to a self-inflicted injury. Life-saving measures were performed and he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was transported to a medical facility for further care and the investigation is ongoing.
