ATHENS, Ga. — Flowery Branch could not hold onto a halftime lead in losing 66-60 to Cedar Shoals on Tuesday in the Region 8-4A tournament at Cedar Shoals High School.
The Falcons (9-17) led 21-20 at halftime in a defensive battle. The second half, however, the offenses took center stage.
The Jaguars (16-10) outscored Branch 24-17 in the third for a 44-38 lead. The Falcons could not cut into the lead as Cedar Shoals was able to hang on down the stretch despite 21 points after halftime from Brayden Lee.
Lee finished with a game-high 26 points for Branch. Landon Mealor had 12 points for the Falcons.
Deston Foote led Cedar Shoals with 21 points. DJ Hubbard and Tron Williams each had 12 points for the Jaguars.
