MACON, Ga. — Mekhi Barber scored 33 points and surpassed 1,000 career points while leading the Lanier Christian boys basketball team to its first GAPPS AA state championship, 60-57, over Creekside Christian on Saturday night
Barber surpassed 1,000 points with his final bucket of the night.
Gavin Sewell-Strabala added 12 points, and Emitt Tracey scored eight in the win.
