JEFFERSON, Ga. — The Cherokee Bluff boys and girls tennis teams showcased their dominance on the court Thursday, sweeping Jefferson with 4-1 victories on the road.
On the girls’ side, Cherokee Bluff secured a strong win behind stellar singles performances. Bryson Bishop (No. 1) and London McDaniel (No. 2) each cruised to 6-1, 6-1 victories. Jefferson’s lone point came in No. 3 singles, where Josie Fuller won decisively, 6-0, 6-1.
Callie Vokal and Camillia Guevara powered past their opponents in doubles action with a 6-4, 6-1 victory. The No. 2 doubles team of Chloe Davis and Callie West needed a tiebreaker set but secured the win with a 7-3 decision.
Meanwhile, the Cherokee Bluff boys also delivered a commanding performance. James Rivenbark (No. 1) dominated with a 6-1, 6-0 win, while Nick Bellew (No. 3) battled to a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Jefferson’s Bryce Jenkins picked up the Dragons’ only point in No. 2 singles, winning 6-1, 6-3.
The Bears were just as strong in doubles competition. Jett Hewette and Neo Dang (No. 1) overwhelmed their opponents 6-0, 6-2, while Baylor Oleksinski and Arya Chawla fought through a tough match, securing the win 7-5, 1-6, 6-3.
