The majority of the games on Friday will be region contests, with Regions 8-A D1, 6-3A, 7-5A, and 6-6A all staging series finales' around the area while Region 8-5A will open region play on Friday.
In Region 6-3A, Lumpkin County, Dawson County, and North Hall will be looking to complete sweeps. Meanwhile, Johnson, Chestatee, and White County are hoping to salvage wins and avoid sweeps in the first week of region play.
In Region 6-6A, North Forsyth, who opened the week ranked sixth in Class 6A, is trying to stave off a sweep at the hands of arch-rival South Forsyth after dropping the first two games of the series.
Gainesville in Region 7-5A also is looking to avoid a sweep traveling to Roswell to close out their series.
In Region 8-5A, Habersham Central will travel to Athens to take on Clarke Central.
In other interesting matchups, Flowery Branch heads to Class 6A No. 5 North Gwinnett, and Jackson County heads to perennial power Parkview. Cherokee Bluff plays host to East Forsyth.
