Baseball: Trojans, Lumpkin get 6-3A sweeps; Chestatee, White swept; Lakeview stays unbeaten

LILBURN, Ga. – North Hall scored a run on a wild pitch in the top of the eight to pull out a 4-3 win over Greater Atlanta Christian on Friday in Region 6-3A action.

The win for the Class 3A sixth-ranked Trojans (7-3, 3-0 Region 6-3A) gave them a sweep of the Spartans (3-6, 0-3 Region 6-3A) in their opening series.

North Hall will face its biggest challenge of the season next week opening a three-game series at home on Tuesday against No. 2 Pickens.

Against GAC, North Hall built an early 3-0 lead with single runs in each of the first three innings, including a second inning solo home run from Thomas Davis. Kenny Foudy had a pair of RBI on sacrifice flies.

But the Spartans battled back with runs in the third and fourth and then tied the game at 3 in the sixth.

Micah Jimerson got the win for the Trojans pitching the final two innings allowing just two walks and striking out one.

Ty Kemp had two hits for North Hall.


LUMPKIN COUNTY 3,
CHESTATEE 0

Lumpkin County completed a sweep of Chestatee at home.

The Indians (9-2, 3-0 Region 6-3A) scored twice in the second and once in the fourth and that was more than enough for Mason Hester. The right-hander scattered six hits and struck out seven in six innings to get the win.

Chestatee (1-11, 0-3 Region 6-3A) did not quit. The War Eagles had the tying runs on base on two hits and a walk against Tyler Boggs. But Boggs was able to get Thomas Martens to ground out to end the game.

Eli Chafin had two hits for Chestatee.


LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 15,
WESTMINSTER CHRISTIAN 0 (4 inn)

The Lions (4-0) stayed unbeaten with a rout at home on Friday.

Brock Graham had three hits and three RBI lead the Lakeview attack. Izze Longoria, Jaden Walton, and Ricky Brown each had two hits for the Lions.


PICKENS 8,
WHITE COUNTY 1

The Class 3A second-ranked Dragons completed a sweep of the Warriors on Friday in Cleveland in Region 6-3A.

Three Pickens (11-1, 3-0 Region 6-3A) pitchers limited White County (5-6, 0-3 Region 6-3A) to just three hits while striking out 10.

Christian Starks got the win for Pickens, allowing just one hit but walked five while fanning seven in four innings. Daven Abernathy tossed two scoreless innings giving up just one hit.

Shelton Ramey took the loss for White County giving up eight runs (six earned) on five hits but striking out seven in five innings.

The Dragons scored a run in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth and put it out of reach with four runs in the fifth.

White County scored its only run in the seventh on a RBI groundout from Ramey.

Pickens next will travel to No. 6 North Hall on Tuesday to open a three-game series in a battle for first place.

White County travels to Dawson County on Tuesday to open a three-game series.
