A long-awaited and much needed ground breaking ceremony is finally planned for a new Habersham County Animal Care and Control facility.
On Thursday, April 17, Habersham County Officials will participate in a groundbreaking ceremony at the new Habersham County Animal Care and Control Facility at Old Athens Highway in Cornelia.
The project was part of the SPLOST VII program approved by voters in 2021. Construction was approved last year by the Habersham County Board of Commissioners for the Habersham County Animal Shelter to get a much-needed upgraded Facility.
With the design process completed and now with the Board’s approval for construction, Habersham County is finally ready to kick off the project and break ground on the facility. Construction will begin in the comoing weeks.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 10 A.M. at 401 Old Athens Highway.
