Only a two teams actually were able to get their first round seres complete on Wednesday as lightnining and heavy rains hammered north Georgia most of the night.
East Forsyth advanced in Class 4A with 2-1 and 11-1 win over Union Grove on the road and Gainesville was eliminated in Class 5A after falling to River Ridge 8-1 and 10-0 in Woodstock.
As for the rest, Habersham Central split its Class 5A series with Lee County in south Georgia and the two teams will stage a Game 3 on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Buford and Flowery Branch both took opening wins before rain forced the second game of their series' to Thursday. The Wolves blasted Chapel 9-0 in Class 6A while the Falcons beat Jones County 7-3 in game called after six innings.
Both teams will try and close it out on Thursday
