The City of Suwanee will host its inaugural High Line Criterium on Wednesday, April 30 at the Town Center on Main.
Often referred to as a “crit”, a criterium is a bicycle race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit. The city’s event will mark Race #5 for Speed Week, a series of criterium races held in Georgia and South Carolina.
Speed Week includes stops such as the Twilight Criterium in Athens, Spin The District in Union City, and the Greenville Cycling Classic in Greenville, South Carolina.
The race in Suwanee will be free and open to the public, with the availability to watch the event from the pedestrian bridge at Town Center on Main. A variety of food vendors will also be offered throughout the race.
"We are excited to bring the High Line Criterium to Suwanee and join the lineup of cities hosting Speed Week events," Amy Doherty, Events & Outreach Manager for the City of Suwanee said. "This event not only highlights the thrilling sport of criterium racing but also reflects our commitment to curating a diverse mix of unique experiences that bring the community together in fun and exciting ways."
