The wait is almost over... Football is in the air again.

North Hall, Flowery Branch, and Gainesville kicked off the local 2015 prep football season Friday night as part of the Northeast Georgia Fall Classic at The Brickyard.

North Hall football coach David Bishop joined Game On with Katie B. Davis ahead of this team's Aug. 14, 2015 scrimmage against North Hall.

Benji Harrison is in his first year as the head football coach at Class AAAAAA Habersham Central, coming to the Raiders from Jackson County. Harrison joined the Aug. 12 edition of Game On with Katie B. Davis ahead of his team's Aug. 14 scrimmage against Stephens County.

Flowery Branch football coach Chris Griffin joined Game On with Katie B. Davis ahead of his team's Aug. 14, 2015 scrimmage against North Hall.

Gainesville coach Bruce Miller joined Game On with Katie B. Davis ahead of his team's Aug. 14, 2014 scrimmage against the Bob Christmas-led Jefferson Forrest team out of Virginia. Christmas is the former coach at North Hall High School. Miller discussed his 2015 squad and who's been named starter for the Red Elephants.

Based on popular demand -- and a pining for old traditions -- North Hall, Gainesville, and Flowery Branch will jointly play host together to a four-team scrimmage at North Hall on Friday at The Brickyard starting at 6 p.m.

Today, the state's teams took one more giant step closer to real games, as they were allowed to don pands in practice for the first time, as "fall" practice got underway...
