Gainesville cabbie robbed

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville cab driver was robbed and assaulted Sunday night.

Capt. Ed Barfield of the Hall County Sheriff's Department says it happened at the end of Tulip Drive.

The suspects are four men 24-year-old Dennis Marvin Bruce had picked up on Fair Street.

Capt. Barfield says the four robbed and assaulted Bruce and told him they would shoot him although no weapon was ever produced.

Bruce, a driver or Gainesville Cab Company, was treated at the medical center and released.

The search continues for the suspects, described only as black men wearing dark-colored clothing.
