ALTO - Alto mayor Jack King has resigned and Mayor Pro-Tem Carolyn Gulley is scheduled to assume the post later this week. <br>

Gulley is to be sworn in Friday to fill King's unexpired term which runs through 2003. <br>

The reason for King's resignation was not immediately known.
