DALLAS - The Atlanta Thrashers' road trip takes a western swing Wednesday night when they visit the Dallas Stars.
Geography isn't all that sets the two teams apart.
The Stars, three seasons removed from a Stanley Cup title, are only one point out of first place in the Pacific Division with a 17-12-6-4 record.
The Thrashers, on the other hand, didn't even exist three years ago and have struggled to a league-worst 8-23-5-3 record.
The game is the second of three on the trip for the Thrashers, who take on Phoenix tomorrow night. Atlanta lost to Florida on Monday night, 4-3.
