Chattahoochee greenway addition

BUFORD - Nineteen acres have been added to the Chattahoochee Recreation Area near the Buford Trout Hatchery in Forsyth County.

The purchase price? $715,000. Its the latest parcel to be added to the planned Helen-to-Columbus Chattahoochee River greenway.

The land is southeast of the intersection of Trout Place and Pruitt Road, near the Georgia 20 bridge. Kevin Cheri, superintendent of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area, tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution this is another major step toward providng "significant" watershed protection along the river.
