Hall fire blamed on fireplace

GAINESVILLE - Hall County Fire Chief Mike Satterfield said Monday a fire on Wildwood Trail Friday night was caused by an overheated fireplace.

Chief Satterfield said flames from the the fireplace go into the wall behind the fireplace and that firefighters had to remove a section of the wall to extinguish the fire.

He said the fire caused about three thousand dollars in damage to the home of John Henky.
