State looking for a Northern Arc czar

By by Ken Stanford
ATLANTA - Georgia is recruiting a South Carolina man to become the state's Northern Arc czar.

"Buck" Limehouse, Junior, a former chairman of the South Carolina transportation board, has a reputation for expediting stalled projects.

Two other candidates are being considered, but the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Limehouse has the inside track for the job.

The Northern Arc, which would connect I-75 near Cartersville with I-85 in Gwinnett County, has been in the planning stages for a number of years.

Governor Barnes, in recent months, has stepped up efforts to have the road built.
