GAINESVILLE - Parts of Interstate 85 in our area will be the scene of two major road resurfacing projects over the next several months - one of them expected to last until at least next February.
Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) spokesman Teri Pope says that project will involve about 25 miles of work between State Route 211 and U.S. 441.
"Beginning about 7:00 every night, if the weather allows, we will be somewhere on 85 between Barrow, Banks, and Jackson (counties)," said Pope.
The other resurfacing project involves work on 85 between Old Peachtree Road and State Route 20 - and is expected to be finished by Halloween.
Work on both projects is scheduled to begin this weekend.
