GC honors women leaders

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville College of Offices of Minority Affairs and Student Activities recognized women leaders in Hall County. <br> <br> More than 80 people attended the event, designed to recognize a female Junior and Senior from each of the Hall County and Gainesville high schools. These young women were nominated by their principals and counselors based on their leadership characteristics, good grades, and by being active in school and community affairs. <br> <br> The young women who were honored are: Vivian Adams and Maria Arenas, West Hall; Leilah King and Sandra Dale, North Hall High; Deidra Langston and Abby Hulsey, East Hall; Danielle Sawtell and Melissa Dibben, Johnson; and, Marian Kelly and Kristnan Larkin, Gainesville High. <br> <br> Among the community leaders present for the &#34;Women Leaders in Hall County Luncheon&#34; were Gainesville Mayor Myrtle Figueras and city councilwoman Sissy Lawson. Also Newtown Florist Club President Faye Bush and and Gainesville High Assistant Principal Diane Bryant. <br> <br> Keynote speaker Dr. Yvonne Scott-Miller, Practicing Physician and CEO of Lawrenceville OB/GYN, encouraged the young women in the audience to &#34;remain focused, determined&#34; and to keep themselves in good health.
