GAINESVILLE - A Mar-Jac official said Wednesday the poultry processer has no intentions of reapplying for annexation of its feed mill property by the city of Lula.
Vice President of Poultry Operations Doug Carnes said the company would, however, consider any overtures from the Lula City Council, which was asked by a Lula resident Monday night to reconsider its opposition to the annexation.
Mar-Jac has sued Hall County over the county's refusal to rezone the Lula area property for the feed mill.
The company withdrew an annexation request before the Lula City Council last November in the face of overwhelming opposition.
It was then that Mar-Jac went to the county with the proposal.
