CLEVELAND - A White County man, facing a second trial on charges of shooting and killing two horses, has, instead, pleaded guilty to the charges.
44-year-old Richard Pair's first trial, in January, ended in a hung jury.
After entering his guilty plea, Pair was given a 30-day jail sentence, to be followed by probation, and must pay the owner of the horses $15,000 restitution.
Pair who admitted being drunk at the time the horses were shot in December 2000 had said he was shooting at coyotes at the time.
