Chamber president resigns

CLEVELAND - There are still some unanswered questions following the resignation last week of White County Chamber of Commerce President Steve Hashimoto.

Hashimoto resigned during a chamber executive board meeting last Thursday.

Neither Hashimoto or Chamber officials would comment about the resignation.

The executive board waited until Monday to issue a statement. In it, the board expressed their appreciation to Hashimoto for the past two and a half years service, saying he has been an asset to the organization.

The statement said the resignation was effective immediately.

Some regular board members said they were caught by surprise by the resignation and will look for an explanation when the full board meets Wednesday morning.
