GAINESVILLE - The state Department of Transportation says construction on the U.S. 441-Homer Bypass in Banks County is now ready to shift traffic onto the southern end of the project.
Weather permitting, the change will occur Thursday when traffic is diverted to the two lanes of the Homer Bypass from State Route 164 to Webb Creek Road.
D.O.T. officials say the traffic shift is necessary to upgrade the old two lanes of U.S. 441.
