COLUMBUS - Gainesville will be represented in this year's Miss Georgia Pageant by a Brenau University student.
Judith Pannell is competing in the pageant, which is being held this week in Columbus, as the reigning Miss Augusta. Pannell is a singer whose platform is helping the hungry and homeless through Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity.
Northeast Georgia is is also represented by a Young Harris College student, Clark Sarullo of Cobb County, who is competing as Miss North Georgia Mountains; Kayann Hayden of Ellijay, the reigning Miss Historic North Georgia; Katie Freeman, Miss Lake Lanier; Erin Grizzle, Miss Thunder Road; and, Katie Baughman, Miss Northerast Georgia.
The current Miss Georgia is Amy Mulkey of Gainesville, who will surrender her crown to her successor Saturday night.
