GAINESVILLE - The pace of residential construction activity slowed again in June in Gainesville and Hall County - following the trend set in May.
Building inspection officials said last month that the decrease in activity in May was probably because of the wet weather and not the county commission decision to increase the minimum for residential lot sizes.
One official said it will take several months for the impact of the commission action to show up because of the preliminary work that has to be done on a project before the developer seeks a building permit.
During June, there were 95 permits okayed in unincorporated Hall County for new, single-family housing, and ten were approved for the city of Gainesvile.
