Quinlan closing for renovations

GAINESVILLE - The Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville will close for about two months beginning Wednesday for a major renovation of the 40-year-old building. <br> <br> The renovation is a companion project to the an addition to the arts complex which is being built on an adjoining lot on Green Street.<br> <br> Executive Director Maureen Marks says the entire facility is being renovated. Marks said the only thing that will stay the same will be the main gallery - but, even it will have new walls, a new ceiling, new lights, and new flooring.<br> <br> Marks said the arts center staff will re-locate to a site on nearby Candler Street while the renovation is underway. Once all of the work is finished, the size of the arts center will be increased from 9,200 square feet to more than 16,000 square feet.
